Onerionaut ( ō-ˈnī-rə-ˌnȯt): An explorer of the dream world

Join the team effort to explore dreaming consciousness by participating in at home experiments and online surveys. Learn while helping us discover the best techniques for inducing, stabilizing, and guiding lucid dreams.

Lucid dreaming enthusiasts of all levels can earn membership in this exclusive club by participating in experiments conducted at home. Members are granted access to special reports and discounts on work- shops, webinars and selected Lucidity Institute products.

By participating in experiments and submitting your results, you can help us continue exploring the frontiers of lucid dreaming. Some experi- ments aim at finding out how to improve your ability to have lucid dreams while others investigate what can be done in lucid dreams (i.e., tasks performed within the dream world itself!).

Every experiment has an instruction section and a report form. Be sure to read the instructions carefully and fill out the form completely. Each experiment also has a due date which allows us to analyze the data and report our findings in a timely manner so you can benefit from what we learn.

Keep in mind as you perform these experiments that even though you may have marginal or unimpressive results, the collective reports from all participants combined may show a valuable result. So even if you think your experience was not very interesting, please submit your report. Your participation will be greatly appreciated and valued!

See the list of our current experiments and begin with whichever one sparks the greatest motivation for you, or check out some of Lucidity Institute's past experiment research reports.

Current Experiments and Surveys

  • Some scientists seem to assume that lucid dreams are “too different” from non-lucid dreams to use lucid dreamers to study, for example, mind-body relationships during REM sleep. With an aim towards understanding the extent to which lucid dreams differ from non-lucid dreams in other ways than (obviously) whether or not the dreamer knows it is a dream at the time, we have designed the following simple study. In short, we are asking for four dream reports via email; Two of these reports should be lucid dreams, and two should be non-lucid dreams.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • Getting up an hour early, staying awake for 30-60 minutes reading about lucid dreaming, doing MILD briefly, then taking a morning nap is an effective way to induce lucid dreams.
